About

MeshStudio is an addon for Blender that generates and assigns custom object previews inside the Asset browser.

How it works

Any objects that you want to generate previews for, have to be selected in the 3D viewport. The cursor has to be centered in the camera view.

With the ability to select your camera, and world environment, you can create endless variations of your object previews.

You can quickly access the output folder where the previews are saved. If no output folder is set, previews are saved in //object_previews folder where the .blend file is located.

Don't like how the object looks? Simply modify it and render a new preview!

Feature: Studio Lighting

Studio Lighting is a feature that allows the user to setup and render object previews with any kind of studio lighting setup which includes real lights, backdrops or other additional geometry.

How it works:

Place your studio lighting setup in a collection and select the collection under the "Studio" drop down menu in the addon.

MeshStudio will render all objects that are placed inside that collection.

If you don't want to use studio lighting, simply select "None" from the drop down menu.

Tips

Save time by creating a startup file in Blender, that contains a collection of cameras, world environments and studio lighting, made specifically for rendering your object previews.

Installation

Download the .zip file. Open preferences, select the Add-ons tab and Install from Disk.

The addon is visible in the Asset browser.

Requirements

Addon has been tested and works with Blender 4.4.0. Other version haven't been tested.

Notes

No .blend files are included in this addon. All assets used in the video are free and can be downloaded here:
